We uncoded a word today!
Gahgo = cracker
Book now is book, but it is a two syllable word and you have to say the k very deliberately.

Today Asher and Mommy worked on numbers in the car. He has learned to say un, two (it sounds like achoo with a t). He will not say three and four is tour. Mommy tried to get him to count for Daddy but he won’t do it. 🙁 Maybe he will in the car on the way to visit Great Grandma Dougherty this weekend.
We assembled his hippo potty tonight. He understood how to sit on it, but now the tough part will be to get him to use it properly! He is young but showing some signs he knows when he has to potty. We will see.
Bet you don’t know the proper words for these items:
bug = bung
book = bookah
food/bottle = bahcko
? = bucko
If you can figure out what bucko means in Asher’s world, please let his parents know.
Mommy found Asher some drawing disks so he can color easier. He has a difficult time putting enough pressure on normal crayons to color with them. Asher likes the disks, but tends to think they are blocks and stacks them. An hour or so after coloring, Asher took the three that were out of the package on the table, the ones he used, and put them with the others and the package on the chair. We could only be so lucky that cleaning up after himself sticks with him when he gets older.
Asher is feeling much better, our living room and Bough and Opapa’s house look like a toy tornado went through! He enjoyed his mock lasagna (lasagna with random noodles), blueberries, cottage cheese, and cheesecake pudding for dinner tonight and then had a bath. No more antibiotics after today! Mommy finished hers also, but her left ear is causing more pain than it did all week. Lucky Daddy seems to have dodged the sickies this time.
Asher and Mommy went to see the nurse practitioner, Julie, today. Asher is doing better he gained 1 pound and now weighs a whopping 25 pounds. His lungs now sound clear, the wheezing we are hearing from time to tine is from him coughing up phlegm and then air going past it in his trachea. The right ear had a lot of wax built up, but from what she could tell, it is a little less red. He is to finish the amoxicillin and if he is still sick we have to go back.
Mommy is doing ok. Her congestion, etc. is probably viral. Due to her asthma and diminished lungs in the upper quadrants, a prescription for an antibiotic was given with the option to take it now or wait a few days.
Daddy is doing fine. So far, he hasn’t shown any more symptoms. Hopefully our household will be 100% back to normal by the weekend.
After his appointment, Asher colored a picture and played with crayons while watching none other than Mickey Mouse Clubhouse.
Update: Asher ended up vomiting all his chicken soup and broccoli at dinner. He seems to be feeling much better now. He managed to get a bath out of the ordeal, so that made him very happy. Lots of mucus has appeared so that must have been what triggered the vomiting.
Asher went to see the nurse practitioner, Marie, this evening. He STILL weighs 24 pounds and no height or head measurements this time. Hos lungs were a little wheezey and there is a lit of drainage. Marie is hoping the drainage is causing the wheezing. Asher’s left ear looks fine, but his right ear is very red ans slightly inflamed with some fluid. She prescribed Amoxicillin and said we can put some Vic’s vaporub on his feet to help clear the congestion. If his temperature goes over 100, we can rotate between Tylenol and Advil but to only use them if he seems pretty uncomfortable. If he seems ok with his temperature under 102 then let him go since it is the body’s way of true to fight the infection. Asher took his medicine like a champ, but he wasn’t so sure about it. It is still that yucky bubblegum flavored stuff only now it is white not pink. If Asher isn’t doing better by Friday we have to take him back, otherwise in 10-14 days we have to go have his ears checked to ensure the infection is gone.
Here’s the not so good new… Daddy and Mommy have sore throats 🙁
Asher is feeling a little better today, but not all the way. Still congested, and temperature went up for a little bit, but no vomiting so that’s a little improvement.
Asher did eat half a meatball and some whole wheat penne for dinner. He enjoyed sucking the sauce out of the center of them. But his itchy nose caused him to rub the spaghetti sauce all over his face.
