Swimming

Asher was super excited to go swimming today. He and Mommy got to the pool and he started yelling Granah over and over and pointing to the pool. Unfortunately Mommy had to explain that his instructor, Grant, was at his swimming banquet so there was going to be a substitute, Katie. He got right in the water and did a couple laps kicking and walked a few working his arms and blowing bubbles. During his lesson he even went in the water all the way; he started learning to jump in the water to Mommy. One time he went to grab the dolphin toy on the steps and he put his entire face in the water and blew some bubbles!  Hopefully he continues to progress. Again, he got very upset when class was over even though Miss Katie extended his lesson by 10 minutes. Maybe next week he will let Mommy take his picture at swimming.

Also, Asher learned how to say F (eh pa) today!

Watch out for spaghetti!

Tonight Asher picked out dinner. Mommy showed him rotini and elbow noodles. He said “eh-bow”. When shown the penne and elbow noodles he took the “eh-bow” and put them on the counter and tried saying penne but it only sounded like yeah. He then picked Daddy’s spaghetti sauce. While Mommy turned to put the penne in the water Asher managed to dump an entire box of spaghetti on the floor. So, if you come to our house in the next few days, watch out for spaghetti in the kitchen.

Swimming

Asher went back to swimming lessons today. Mommy and Daddy were both able to go tonight. He loved playing with his instructor, Grant. Asher got upset when he went headfirst into the water when he was trying to reach for the cone at the bottom of the pool. The only other meltdown was when we were getting out of the pool. He was extremely upset that swimming was over for the day.  He did a wonderful job kicking. Asher kicked all the way across the pool several times, and during free time he would flip over to climb back in the pool so he could kick more. Last session of lessons when he didn’t want to get into the pool and this session he doesn’t want to get out of the pool.  Hopefully he decides to continue liking swimming.

Hat debacle

Well, Asher’s monkey hat was lost on Monday at the Eastwood Mall when he went shopping and to ride the train with Cameron, Jen, and Mommy. Papa has been giving Mommy crap since this hat isn’t good enough…

So hopefully this hat

Or this hat

Will make up for it!

Go!

Asher decided a crate (or laundry basket) is the best sled. You have to load your blanket and stuffed animals in with you. Daddy says “ready, set,” and Asher says “Gooooooooo!” He says go before he even gets in the basket now.

He was SO tired, but would not stop playing.

Elephant Sounds

Asher went over and got his stuffed elephant out and made elephant sounds at it.

By the way, this is the outfit he picked for himself today (minus the turtleneck… Mommy said it was too cold not to wear long sleaves but he kept pushing them up).

Sniffing and Sentence

Asher has been really talking and developing his vocabulary this week.  Almost every morning he has been practicing Grandma and Grandpa. Today he said “G-umpa gone” in correct context!

Asher also decided to discover his sense of smell. Mommy was wondering how long it would take!  He went around sniffing everything today.
