Asher is starting to learn that words do begin with the letter s. He is now starting to say simming instead of nimming, etc. He has connected in his brain that n’s should be s’s so at first fettucini noodle is fetanini soodle. He will practice it a few times before he flips it to noodle. The one Daddy and Mommy are saddist about is sea star 🙁 he now says it correctly instead EEEEE dar.
Tonight Asher was playing while Mommy was making dinner. He grabbed a box of elbow noodles and shook it once, then twice, and the third time the bottom of the box broke and the noodles went all over the floor. Asher froze, looked at Mommy, and said “Uh oh! Big mess!” Mommy picked him up and moved him and apparently blankey, that was right in front of him and all he had to do was bend down, was too far away because he started crying and yelling “Bankey, bankey!”. After he got blankey, he helped Mommy clean the noodles off the floor twice (Asher thought it was a great idea to dump the box he was holding while Mommy dumped the dust pan into it.) Asher is doing a great job helping clean messes!
Asher and Seamus visited with Gram and Papa while Daddy and Mommy went to Mel and Robert’s wedding.
This week Asher has been practicing swimming at Papagug’s. He wears his life vest and swims all by himself across the pool. At this rate by the end of the summer I is going to be doing laps the full length of the pool instead of side to side.
Asher and Mommy have had a wonderful summer cold this week. 🙁 He has also been cutting a few teeth so he has been a little on the cranky side. Hopefully he is feeling back to normal soon and the cranks go away.
Asher was taking a bath today. He pointed down and said penit (penis). Then Daddy, Papa, Mama no, Gram no, and Gaga no. After he was done in his bath, he pointed to Mommy’s chest and asked what. She explained those were her boobs. He said Ahah (Asher)? Mommy asked him if he had boobs and he said uh huh. When asked where they were he bent down and pointed to his scrotum.
Asher attended another art gallery reception with Mommy at The Margaret Clark Morgan Building. He was very lovey today!
The MCMF has a “Hand Art” project. Each person is asked “What does recovery mean to you?” Asher and Mommy’s hands will be added to the presentation.

Asher had a busy but fun day. After playing fishing with Pockets, Asher took a long nap and ate lunch. He and Mommy went for a ride in the wagon, played basketball, and swept the driveway with the bug broom. Then the family went shopping at the ball store (Targets) to get Papa (Uncle) Jeff’s retirement gift. While visiting Uncle Jeff and Aunt Jaylynn at Papagaga’s house, Asher, Gaga, and Daddy went swimming, played outside, and had some dinner. Asher was asleep way before we got to the stop sign on Papagaga’s street.
Asher had to take his basketball and “giraffe” for a wiiiide.
Gaga made his hair super silly.
Asher has been trying to play with Pockets and it has not been going well. Pockets does not like to play ball and especially does not like the ball thrown at him. This morning Asher tried to catch Pockets with his fishing game. The two of them sat and played fishing for almost 15 minutes… not too bad for their short attention spans!
Oh, and at breakfast when Mommy asked Asher his puppy’s name he said “Blackjack!” Seamus has started to respond a little bit to Nameit but not so sure if he will accept Blackjack…
