Lake Forest Country Club

Asher went to the country club today for the first time with Papa, Uncle Eric, Uncle Jason, Daddy, and Mommy (Gaga had book club). He had a good time taking walks with the boys outside around the pool. He kept asking everyone to take him for a walk around the pool. For dinner he had linguine with chicken and really enjoyed the linguine. When we were leaving a very nice gentleman gave Asher a kids tennis ball he had found. Asher played with it all the way home and talked about walking around the pool and “eating dinner at country club.”

Pottying

Asher peed in the potty 4 times today!  Mommy would ask him if he had to potty and he would say uhhuh. He would go in and pee. After we dump the pee in the toilet, rinse his potty and flush, he gets his butt and clothes put on (unless it is bath time) then he gets to pick out his sticker. He is really liking the 100% ones yesterday and today. He gets one sticker if he pees and 3 stickers if he poops (or a special big one). So far no pooping in the past week.

Today he helped Mommy clean in the garage and made coffee again. He got filthy!

Shopping

This morning was very busy. Asher, Daddy, and Mommy went to the rock store (the rocks for the flower beds will be delivered on Monday), the bank, the big red ball store (Targets), and Lowes. We worked outside for a few hours and Asher helped Mommy clean the garage a little turn he made coffee in the old maker in the garage. Later Uncle Jason came over for dinner and stayed with Asher while Daddy and Mommy went dancing. Uncle Jason and Asher had lots of fun building bubble homes (mobile homes) with blocks. Asher earned yet another sticker for peeing on the potty!

Flexibility

Asher scared Papa, Gaga, and Mommy today. He and Papa were swimming while Gaga watched when Mommy got to Papagug’s after work. Everything was going fine and he was getting in and out of the pool playing with his toys. The last time he slipped somehow on the way back in and his right leg was in the pool with his butt on the top step but his left leg was out of the pool and kind of twisted a little. Obviously there was crying and Gaga got to him first. We got him situated and out of the pool since he wanted Pooh blankey but when he tried to walk his left leg wouldn’t work. So we took him inside to change and get him ready to go to Akron Children’s Hospital.  While changing him he stopped crying and started to move his left hip area. Mommy checked his left ankle and foot and he stayed quiet. After a dry butt and clothes were on we tested and let him stand. He was a little wobbly at first, but within a few minutes he was off and running and climbing. We believe he just overextended his hip and/or ankle and that’s why his leg gave out at first. So, no need for the hospital even though the adults about had a heart attack.  Asher does have some little scrapes on his ankle where it was stuck on the concrete but no real swelling. We will keep an eye on it, but hopefully no damage was done. (Daddy is worried about his growth plates.).

Marathon

Today Aunt Jenny ran her first race!  She competed in a 5K at Lake View Cemetery and did really well. The last portion of the race was the toughest since it was up hill. Asher finger painted and colored her a sign (with a little help from Mommy on the writing). She finished the race at 34 minutes and 7 seconds with her team of supporters cheering her on (Papa, Gram, Uncle Lee, Asher, Daddy, and Mommy). We are very proud of Aunt Jenny!

We saw the former President’s casket, a statue of him addressing Senate, the beautiful stainglass windows, and a view of Cleveland from the top. He also played in the jungle with Daddy (the plants and trees around the monument).  Later we went to Little Italy for lunch and walk around at The Feast.

Then we went to Squires Castle to celebrate Miss Hadley’s first birthday. Asher had fun playing on the baseball field, in the dirt, and Asher’s version of cornhole. In Asher’s version of cornhole you pick up a stick (or a miniature log) and as you throw it to an area where nobody is standing, you yell “Cohhhnhoe!” The you chase after it and say hmmmm as you look for it.

Needless to say, Asher was exhausted by the time he got home.

Sowwwy and stickers

Mommy has been trying to work on Asher not throwing toys in the car and if he does he has to say he is sorry.

This morning Asher was reading with Tag in the car on the way to Papagug’s. All the sudden Asher said I sowwwy then threw Tag and his book. At least he has the concept and apologized prior to doing something bad!

Prior to bath time, Mommy asked Asher if he had to potty and he said yes. He sat on his potty and earned his first sticker by peeing on the potty.
