Orchard

Today Asher, Daddy, and Mommy went to Hiram to the Monroe’s Orchard and Farm Market.  They picked apples and raspberries. Asher had a great time.

They had to ride in a trailer pulled by a tractor to get to the picking orchard and sat on “hay… horsies eat hay.”  They picked Cortland, Red Delicious, and Empire apples.  Asher ate about two entire apples.

After they rode back to the store and parking area, they visited the little lake and saw little turtles playing on a drainage pipe and sticking their heads out of the water.

Raspberry picking was fun also.  Asher did not quite get that you should put the raspberries in the basket; they went straight to his mouth.  He probably picked and ate close to a pint himself!  It took a little bit, but he finally realized you don’t want to eat the “steams” (stems).

Joys of pottying with Asher

Every night this week Asher has asked to visit Gram and Papa. Mommy keeps telling them it will be a couple weeks before we see them because they are going to Hawaii for Uncle E and Aunt Ashley’s wedding. Click the photo to see a video of him saying Hawaii (sorry there’s not much of his face in it but he was on the potty) and cleaning the hair out of Mommy’s brush.

Asher’s doing a great job with pottying in the evenings. There is only one issue: each time something lands in the potty he has to have it dumped in the big potty. So tonight after the third or fourth emptying he looks at it before it goes in the big potty and said “Six! Poopy is six!” (it was curved like a six). Then after a few more dumpings of pee and poop in the potty he looked into the potty, “Booooootiful! Poopy in potty booooootiful!” Apparently poopy in a potty at a certain point looks beautiful to a two year old Asher.

Dinner

Daddy had class tonight so Asher and Mommy had Fettuccine Alfredo with cranberries and dried mandarins for dinner.  (click pictures for videos)

When Mommy first told Asher that Daddy was at class and he would not be joining us for dinner, Asher insisted Daddy was at swimming class not at a psychology class.

Note, the cake batter he tried does not have raw eggs in it!

Sunday at the Zoo

Asher, Daddy, and Mommy went to the Akron zoo again today.  Since we went at 11:00 to try to beat the crowds (wishful thinking, Walk for Babies of Akron Children’s Hospital’s NICU occurred that morning), Asher missed a large portion of his nap and fell asleep on the way home with his new lemur.  As you can see in the video, he was pretty worn out.

Caterpillar

Asher REALLY likes to watch “The Very Hungry Caterpillar” on Netflix and the way he says caterpillar is super cute.  Unfortunately when Gaga and Mommy were trying to capture a video of him saying it (click picture to see it) he was intrigued by the flash on Mommy’s phone.  So, I apologize for the bad video, but around 0:26 you can hear him say it.

Present and President

Tonight when Mommy was putting Asher to bed, Mommy said I love you Asher; I hope you had a wonderful birthday. His response was presents, President Obama on the news channel at Papagug’s. Apparently in Asher’s brain presents and and the president are the same thing!  Anyways, Mommy loves you very much and I hope you enjoyed your second birthday.

Pottying

Asher is doing well going potty on his potty.  Prior to Mommy starting to record this video Asher was reading his book out loud explaining what was on each page and which ones were about colors, shapes, numbers, and the animal sounds.  Of course he stopped reading when she started recording.

You can see all the stickers he has earned on the poster behind his stool.  He is doing pretty well at peeing on the potty to receive one little sticker.  He earned the big baseball sticker for pooping.  He loves receiving stickers especially the ones that say 100%.
