School

Asher did really well at school today. Miss Christine was there since Miss Loretta and Miss Destanie were off. I don’t know if it has been mentioned on here or not, but for some reason when Asher goes to school he has to take Pooh blankey and a bath toy. Today was the first time in a bit we have gotten away with no bath toy. Instead he took a figurine he got for Christmas from Daddy and Mommy, the pink “octopus” from Finding Nemo.

They played the pompom game today and really enjoyed it. Is all you do is stuff pompoms in an old dish that had a small hole in it. It is the simple, inexpensive toys/games that are the most exciting.

When Mommy got to school to pick him up after lunch, he did not realize she was there since they were reading. She was there for at least five minutes watching before she went over to him. The one boy he was standing next to reading with, Evan or Ethan, got this super excited look on his face and grabs Asher’s shoulder to turn him and said “Yook, Ashah, yowa mothewa is hewa” Asher finally turned around and saw her and said Mommy! while doing this silly dance. It was hilarious!

By the way, still doing really well in his big boy bed!

Bahama Breeze

Tonight Asher, Daddy, and Mommy went to Bahama Breeze for the first time. He really enjoyed his bow tie pasta and the special fruit cup the waiter brought him (strawberries and manderan oranges) since the original one had pineapples. Asher also enjoyed Mommy’s dinner and ate about 1/4 of her veggie burger and some of her fries. Then he had some of Mommy’s key lime pie for dessert. It is quite possible he is starting to feel better. Last dose of medicine was taken tonight.

There is a possibility he is allergic to the Azythromyacin or venison. He woke up this morning and his right eye was a little puffy.

Big boy bed

Asher and Mommy converted Asher’s crib into a toddler bed today. He was very helpful and got his tools out to help with his screwdriver and hammer. Then he used Mommy’s screwdriver to help tighten screws on his railing. He chose not to assist with vacuuming and cleaning the carpet. Asher and Daddy played during that time.

He did really well during his nap and stayed in bed until Mommy went into his room to get him.  He really likes that he can climb out of bed by himself. Mommy misses the extra hug and kiss by getting him out of his crib, but is very proud of how well he is adjusting.

Doctor

Asher went to Dr. MacCallum this afternoon (weight is 28.5 lbs). He gave a prescription for Azythromycin (pink stuff, but not the same stuff that Mommy and Daddy took that had to be refrigerated). First dose down and 2-5 more to go. Be did well taking it, one teaspoon a day until gone isn’t too bad.

Last night did not go so hot. He was up every 15-45 minutes coughing. Every time he coughed he called for Mommy and started crying so she had to go in and rub his back for a few moments and adjust blankey. At the 4:30 cough he decided it was time to be picked up (no other time was that needed). He proceeded to tell Mommy to change his butt, eat breakfast, get ready, go to school, Gaga, then Papagug’s.  Luckily, she was able to convince him to go back to bed.

So far tonight is going much better. He has only woken up coughing maybe two times since bedtime at 7. Here’s to hoping it continues that way or better!

Unfortunately, Asher did not get to go see Santa at Mommy’s work this year. With being sick and his doctor’s appointment it just didn’t work out. The Kellar family did get him a pretty cool hat for Christmas though.

Politeness

Asher has a cold and/or he is getting some back teeth so he is a little miserable right now.  He feels so bad he turned down tomatoes today 🙁  He typically can’t eat enough cherry tomatoes. Before bed he had a slight temperature (101.7) so he had a little Advil. He woke up from sleeping a few minutes ago coughing and started crying and then coughing some more. The next thing he did was so “No thank you cough.” It is nice to know that the manners we are trying to teach him are sticking in his brain, but we feel horrible that he is going through this. Mommy gave him a drop of honey to try to settle his cough and it seemed to work a little. Hopefully he gets a decent night’s sleep.

The difference between yesterday and today when being dropped off at school:

New Songs

Asher has been making up words to songs for the last week or so.  Among them are:

Hey diddle diddle, the cow and the Christmas tree, the kitty jumped over the mitten, the little cow laughed to see such sport and the kitty ran away with the fork.

Mary had a Christmas tree, Christmas tree, Christmas tree. (video)

School Update

Asher has been adjusting to school a little better.  He really enjoys Miss Loretta and Miss Destiny and mentions them just about every day and how he wants to go play with the kids.  On December 4th Mommy took him to school, we walked into the classroom with Mommy holding him, he leaned over when Mommy said she had to go to work and let Miss Loretta take him.  His bottom lip got a little quivery, but there were no tears!  He was on his way to wash his hands when Mommy left the classroom.  The next day did not go as well, he started crying when Mommy turned off the car and would not get down to get his coat taken off.  On December 12th for the first time he got down to get his coat off and did not want picked up.  He walked into the classroom on his own and did not want Miss Loretta or Mommy picking him up.  He went straight in to wash his hands, came out to help Miss Loretta get the paper towel box key.  He walked around and asked Miss Loretta to read a book.  She told him yes but he reminded her they had to add paper towels to the dispenser first.  He was very interested in how to do that.  He has come a long way since the second day of school when he started crying the moment we pulled into the driveway to school.

Mommy tries to take a picture of him in his car seat everyday before we go in.  The photos may look like the same day, but they are each taken on Wednesdays and Thursdays.  He has a few different coats, but he will only wear this blue one with the hood on.
