Playing before bed

Asher had a good day at school yesterday and today. Miss Loretta was sick yesterday, but Miss Jennifer and Miss Destanie were there. He went potty a couple times but we have a long way to go. (sorry, Mommy forgot to take his photo)

Since Asher refuses to use any blanket other than Pooh at Papagug’s for naptime, he sand Mommy went to Joann’s for fleece to make another one. He LOVES the planet one Grandma D gave him for Christmas so Mommy thought we could make another one. Asher picked out the fabric, basketball on one side and spaceships on the other. Mommy fit and tied it this morning before school and he was super excited about it. He wad so excited he told Miss Loretta the entire story when we got to school. He even kept it on at Papagug’s during his nap.

Asher and Mommy played while trying to get his jammies on which got stuck on his noggin, and then he insisted on taking his picture with her.

Oh, Mommy hasn’t mentioned it in these posts, but obviously we have survived “polar vortex” one and two of 2014 with just minor setbacks. During the first one our furnace stopped heating -bad sensor which was replaced – then would hold the temperature – bad thermostat which was replaced. During the second, the furnace wouldn’t hold the temperature again – learned the filter was too thick and only use the flossy type – then a couple days later we came home to no water – pipe ruptured in the neighborhood – but we got it back before morning. Asher does really well going in and out of the car and keeps Pooh blankey over his head and snuggles Mommy to keep warm and not have to breath such cold air, -18° temperatures (plus wind chill) when we got to Papagug’s was a little difficult to breathe in. It is a good thing we had decided to postpone swimming lessons until at least the next session in March due to him being sick.

Smells

Today Asher did not do the greatest at pottying at Papagug’s, but he at least tried a few times. When he and Mommy got home he peed on the potty and after dinner he peed and pooped in the potty. Mommy wiped his bottom and dumped it all in the big potty to be flushed. She always rinses his potty and dumps the water in the big potty. Tonight while she was rinsing it, she looks over and Asher’s somewhat squatting with his face almost in the toilet bowl and she hears him sniffing. She asked what he was doing and he said “Asher’s sniffing the poopy.” Needless to say she told him to stop (because his head was almost touching the toilet). He sniffed again and said “Asher’s poopy smells like applesauce” laughed “that’s funny!”

One of his new things is to do or say something goofy, do this really weird laugh (will try to capture on video), and then say in a low silly voice “that’s funny” and laugh more and sometimes bend down and laugh more.

Pottying

We tried potty training again today and it was not very successful. Asher peed on the potty one time in the morning and one time in his Mickey undies. In the afternoon be peed his undies four times. One time was immediately after sitting on the potty and he peed on Daddy’s lap. Once was at dinner immediately after trying on the potty, and the last time was five minutes after being on the potty but Mommy caught him before he pooped. He did end up pooping on the potty so the day ended fairly well. Hopefully it goes better another day.

School digression

Asher digressed at school this week. He had a really tough time with Mommy dropping him off. The amount of tears was the same as it was his first couple weeks. We hope next week is better.

Playing

Asher stayed with Miss Jen, Mrs. Kennedy, and Cameron while Mommy went to see Dr. DeMalio. The boys played so well together that Miss Jen offered to have Asher stay with them again next month during Mommy’s appointment.

Pottying

This morning Asher worked on potty training. He went all morning with no accidents and peed in the potty twice. After nap we went to Gram and Papa’s to celebrate Christmas with Aunt Jenny and Uncle Lee and have pasta dinner. Aunt Jenny made the meatballs, Gram made white and sweet potato gnocchi, and Mommy made vodka sauce.

Asher’s SUPER excited about the solar system, stars, and solar system book he got for Christmas.

Back to school

Asher missed an entire week (all two days he attends) of school due to the virus he had. We are very happy to report that he is back to himself. The only repercussion of his illness is Mommy thinks all the energy he did not expend last week was stored up for this week!  (Papagug be glad you are on vacation in Cancun!). Daddy and Asher have been having lots of fun playing this week. Asher’s latest “trick” is jumping off things and putting his hands on the ground and jump/rolling. (We will try to get a video).
Asher was excited to go back to school, but be was a little leery when Mommy left – no tears though.

Baking

Asher and Mommy made cookies today. Asher used the mixer he got for Christmas to mix his flour, sugar, and as he calls them, spicies to make flour. He sifted all the flour for Mommy before measuring and sifting his flour in his bowl. (Click the pictures for videos)
