Today was Good Friday. Asher spent the day with Dad. Thay played video games and watched tv. Asher was able to participate in a Zoom taekwondo class with Master Weinert (Mom participated also) working on crescent kicks.
COVID19 Day 25
Asher had another meet with his class today and got to spend over an hour talking and playing games with George in Israel. (Happy birthday, Moni!) They used Facebook on phones so they can play basketball, karaoke, and make silly faces.
Ohio’s weather was out of control. Within the last 24 hours it was 70 degrees, it rained really hard, it hailed, there were tornadoes in the Medina and Columbiana area, it snowed “snow flakes as big as golf balls,” and rained even more. Bike riding today occurred but with winter coats, earmuffs, and gloves.
COVID19 Day 24
Today it was 70 degrees outside. Asher and Mommy went for a bike ride and participated in taekwondo Zoom class. Asher discovered it is more comfy to do reading in bed.
COVID19 Day 23
Victoria and Derick went on the bike ride today. Asher saw a painted turtle in the grass on the ride.
Cauliflower chips and homemade hummus were a hit for lunch. During writing, Asher noticed he knew all the letters in one of his Fundations words to write it in cursive… athlete! He did a great job connecting everything together and has found new fun in writing.
Master Andrachik made a huge announcement today regarding belt testing. As long as you attend a minimum of two classes a week and fill out the attendance sheet, at the next belt test color belts will move up an entire belt rank. For black belts(Asher and Mommy), you will be eligible to test one black belt cycle earlier. So instead of testing in April 2021 for their next belt, Asher and Mommy will be allowed to test in December 2020 for third dan as long as they meet all their requirements beforehand.
COVID19 Day 22
Back to “school” again. Today marked the first official day for online learning for the state of Ohio. Asher had a Google Meet with his class today, and Mrs. Wollam outlined how this new form of learning will work.
Today Asher had really bad heartburn after dinner, and Mommy “threatened” to put him out on the lawn on a blanket with a mask and goggles on to have Miss Lauren come look at him. ?
He was also allowed to ride bikes with Victoria and Derick at a distance.
COVID19 Day 21
Victoria was learning how to ride her bike today with no training wheels. Asher went outside and played basketball and encourage her when her and her Dad were by the house. Today was also Noah’s 7th birthday. He and Mommy put up a sign on their fence to surprise him since no birthday parties are allowed at the moment. We cleaned out the game closet and started making a donate toys pile. At the end of the night we had a movie night and campout in the living room.
COVID19 Day 20
No school today! Asher discovered Prodigy today. What a fun website that uses math to have you work through battles. He and Mommy met up with Dad and Pheona in Cuyahoga Falls for a walk since the trail parking was closed due to so many people being put. He leant Jaxson and his family a puzzle, and he and Mommy drew and painted bunnies on the bedroom windows for the neighborhood scavenger hunt.
COVID19 Day 19
It’s Friday!
COVID19 Day 18
Dav Pilky is now partnering with Scholastic and tomorrow will be the first drawing video lesson with him. Asher used an old box to practice pitching his baseball. He used a picture of Bulbasaur as a target and the first pitch dented the paper and put a hole in the box. The ball got stuck within the paper and the hole. By the time he was done practicing the box was completely destroyed.
COVID19 Day 17
Happy April! Today was a busy day for Mommy at work with the deadline to get due diligence reports to Peg’s Foundation trustees quickly approaching so Asher had to focus a lot on school work today. He did the new normal of entering his calendar, watching Family Matters, reading a book about a state (Nevada) and taking notes for the six slides he will prepare tomorrow, art with Mo Willems, lunch and learn with the Akron Zoo, reading a book and on Epic, and some work from Google Classroom in IXL.
